Meet Tori Manning, a Student Facilitator and a member of our Marketing Team!

Q. What is your educational/professional background, and what are your plans for the future?

  • I will graduate in May 2023 with an H.B.S. in Marketing and a Management minor. I've been working since I was 14 years old doing customer service, in an assisted living facility, and on campus. After graduation, I hope to find a job that allows me to travel and have as many unique experiences as possible.

Q. How did you become a student facilitator?

  • I participated in the Webewell program in Spring of 2021. After completing the program, I found that it had been extraordinarily valuable and I wanted to continue to engage with the content. I began co-facilitating in Fall 2021 and joined our wonderful Marketing Team in Spring 2022.

Q. Describe your values, how did Webewell help you grow?

  • Personally, I could explain my two pillars of life purpose as experiencing as much life as possible and striving to exert as much value as I'm able to those around me. My values of honesty, kindness, and self-expression mirror those pillars. Webewell has encouraged my growth as I'm literally surrounded by people who genuinely care about my well-being and work hard to promote mental health and personal growth.

Q. What Motivates you?

  • Although it's a common answer, my family really does motivate and inspire me; I recognize how fortunate I am to have a permanent support system.

Q. What helps you focus and helps you manage your stress?

  • Organization is my biggest secret to managing stress. As a college student and part-time employee, time is a precious concept. It helps me to plan out my days in advance so that I block out time for the things that are important to me. For example, I try to block out a small portion of time each day to focus on self-care and mindfulness. I choose to do activities that I enjoy such as bullet-journaling, going out with friends and family, painting, or just sitting out in the sun for 10 minutes. I've personally found that I can limit the amount of burnout I feel at the end of each semester by intentionally taking time to take care of my well-being throughout each week.

Q. Who are you when you aren’t at work or school?

  • Outside of work and school, I have many varied interests. I enjoy spending time with friends and family, especially going out to try new activities or cafes. I'm usually interested in any artistic activity, such as drawing, painting, sculpting, playing an instrument, creating vision boards, etc. Traveling is a passion of mine on any scale. I love exploring any town in Utah that I happen across or planning longer national or international trips. Summer is my favorite season and I feel most like myself laying on the beach or playing in the ocean.

Q. Any advice to anyone using the Webewell program?

  • As far as Webewell goes, my best piece of advice would be to put an equal amount into the program as you'd like to get out of it. If you're engaging with the content and your peers, you'll likely get more out of the program.
